Take A Brake!

I’m not entirely sure what to make of tonight, having signed in to both Lyft and Uber again. I gave twenty rides total, with just three of those being pink moustache rides, but I made around $200 combined. Between the on and off rain, the Huskies game (GO DAWGS!) and two big holiday concerts downtown I was busy enough. I still not sure what to think of this strategy of double dipping, but tomorrow is one more day to see. At least I had a few moments of downtime where I could pop in to a Safeway or just get out and stretch.

I got another late start today but for a good reason. My rear brakes were absolutely beginning to tell me they needed attention, and sure enough one of the pads was worn down and the indicator tab waited until today to start screeching at me. A well timed visit to my friends at Chuck Olson KIA occurred where I picked up new brake pads, engine and cabin air filters and windshield wipers.

My friend Stephen offered his assistance and some tools as we powered through a handy tutorial and learned how disc brakes work. We struggled with the first side before realizing that the removal of the caliper pins made everything so much easier, after which the second side took a fraction of the time. After new tires last week from Discount Tire and an oil change next week my car will be ready for winter in the Pacific Northwest!
